Crib is up!

We went to IKEA on Sunday and purchased our crib. It's our first real baby purchase! It's already set up. I just need to wash the sheets.

I've compiled a list, mostly in my head, of things that we are going to need. I thought I'd share it here. What do you think?

Crib & crib sheets
Baby blankets
Changing pad (we are putting it on top of a dresser)
Diapers (we are going with cloth)
Wipes (also cloth)
Diaper bin w/liner
Moby wrap
Bottles & formula
Car seat - I can't decide what to get. Still researching.
Baby wash cloths
Baby towel
Kiddopotamus
Variety of clothes up to 2 years (not sure what ages we will have)
ETA: Swing!

I might have to add to this list, but this is what I could think of right now.

  1. Wow you are getting on with it. But what on earth is a 'Kiddopotamus'?

  3. Hi there! Sorry I haven't responded to these posts yet... it's been a crazy week with an ER visit for me (I'm fine) and tons of work leading up to finally having a few days off starting today! YAY! Ok, my two cents... depending on what age your little one(s) end up being, a swing, a swing, a swing. It was the best purchase we ever made. If not a swing, then one of those little rocking seats is a pretty handy thing to have. For older kids, we love the little Fisher Price chair and tray that attaches to any chair. Way handier than a high chair. Can't wait! :) Love you!

  4. Can you do a diaper service? I'm just thinking that investing in good cloth diapers for all the different possible sizes might be way more expensive than signing on with a service.

    Congrats on the first purchase!

  5. Shelly, glad you are OK! Yeah, I seem to remember that little miss H like her swing. ;) I'll be putting that on the list! Thanks!

Shinejil, we've been looking at one size fits all diapers, like BumGenius... They fit a pretty good range. But I will definitely investigate the service option. Thanks!
